The Juniors have scored fake ID's (cue Visionary joke) to get into a bar down on the Parodiopolis U campus. Fashion Accessory is chatting up some cute college guys to get them to buy a round of free drinks. Kerry and Denial have challenged each other to a Foosball contest, and are using their powers to cheat outrageously likely leading to the imminent destruction of said machine. Harlagaz has accepted a wager to play darts with the hulking star lineman of the PU football team, and what he lacks in aim he tries to make up for by burying the darts and the board 2 feet into the concrete wall of the bar, likely leading to the immenent fist fight and the loss of the starting defensive line for the big homecoming game next week. Hamboy (back for a visit) is wearing thick Ray-ban sunglasses, under orders to pretend to be blind so Glory can pass as his seeing-eye dog. Unfortunately, he gets carried away calling out the answers to the trivia questions being displayed on the television over the bar. After worrying about what Visionary will say, Glory's questioning the existence of the mens room in light of the fact that it's quite clear that more people prefer marking the wall along the alley out back, and that as a result the territorial dispute back there will be quite involved and may need Lisa's help in sorting it all out.
What about everyone else?
I admit... I'm lazy. What most appeals to me about a new character is knowing exactly what to do with them in a story. If I put Harlagaz into a story, then I pretty much know what he'll be doing there. But not everyone can be quite so broad as Gaz...
With a lot of the new applicants for spaces on the Juniors, it's not a question of how their powers will help the team that I worry about... it's how their personalities will give them something to do in any given story.
So here's what I'd like to see... Above is a simple scenario involving the Juniors where I've outlined what each of the characters involved would do, at least as I see it. It'd be relatively easy to add some dialog and flesh out a scene based on this. But the question is, what would Cody be doing? What would Kid Produce be up to? What about Glitch? I have some ideas, but I'd like to hear from everyone how they imagine various new characters behaving and working into a story like this.
You can write as much or as little as you like... feel free to write a complete scene instead of an outline. You can simply add a line or two for their parts to this scenario, or come up with a new scenario and lay out what everyone is doing in that one. In any event, try to convey whether they're having a good time or not and something telling about their personality in what they're doing. And let's not just hear from the creators of these characters... let's have suggestions for them from everybody, and a few more ideas for the cast members already mentioned. Hopefully it'll spark some discussion on what each of these characters are like, and we'll all get to know them a little better.
Heck, maybe somebody will fill in all the necessary dialogue at the end of it and we'll have an actual story written.
